Description
The STEP & STEP WITH EXTENSION series of vertical lines includes the models VI.A. – VG.A.
It is characterised by its ease of use and the rapid attachment of the system’s anchors to the ladder’s steps (central or lateral), providing the user with easier, safer access to decks, runways, towers, structures, etc.
Features:
- Made with stainless steel or galvanised cable Ø 8 mm.
- Quick and easy installation (one-key assembly).
- Allows up to 3 users simultaneously.
- Metal energy absorber for permanent use.
- Terminal and intermediate anchors with multi-purpose clamps for all types of profiles.
System contents:
1. V 122 – ANCHORAGE (distance 35 cm between steps) Anchorage system: The anchorage is located at the top of the ladder where the energy absorber is placed. The maximum distance between steps is 35 cm.
2. V 142 – EXTENSION BEAM Lifeline extension system: The V 142 fastening system allows the “extension” of the lifeline 1.30 meters above the last step, thus allowing the user to have very safe access to the upper level.
3. V 202 T – INTERMEDIATE ANCHORS Automatic continuous passage system: The wire rope is located inside a stainless steel tube for protection, which allows the V-LOCK ascender to pass through it, without any manipulation, always leaving both hands on the ladder.

- Unique design, entirely made of stainless steel.
- It ensures that the cable will never be damaged by wind when it hits the metal structure (the main cause of wear).
- Simple, fastening system for steps using a clamp for square or circular profiles up to Ø 40 mm.
- M8 stainless steel screws. With DIN 6923 lock nuts for greater ease and speed of assembly, as well as user protection, as there are no edges or other elements that could harm the user in the process.
- It allows the user to ascend and descend in complete safety, crossing intermediate points without stopping or taking any action, always keeping both hands on the ladder (as required by EN 353.1:2014 + A1:2017 regulations).
- With distances between anchors of 8 meters (6 meters for outdoor spaces), to prevent the user from moving away from the ladder and causing the “bow arrow” effect on the line.
- The V 202 T intermediate anchor allows the continuous passage of the V-LOCK fall arrester.
- Laser marking of the component ensures full traceability and graphic placement marking.
4. V 202 C – CRISBE ANCHOR (2 screws) The only system on the market that combines ease of use and compatibility with any fall arrester. The design of the CRISBE intermediate anchor prevents the wire rope from coming out. Its mechanical characteristics allow the wire rope to be held even when pulled out by the operator’s weight.

In addition to its function of preventing the wire rope from coming out, the intermediate anchor allows the operator to pass without manipulation during both ascent and descent, and with the majority of mobile fall arresters on the market.
In addition to all this, the CRISBE V 202 C intermediate piece from IGENA offers:
5. V 300 – ENERGY ABSORBER New rotary energy absorption system with a drop indicator, in case of overload on the line, through which an indication appears that the energy absorber has been activated.

A component that allows the force transmitted to the user’s body during the fall arrest phase to be reduced to less than 450 daN, with a travel of less than 40 cm.
Unique design and construction, all stainless steel (body and mechanism) with PVC coating and anodised aluminium plate. Patented model EP18209587.7.
Suitable for up to 3 simultaneous USERS.
Small size, without edges or other elements that could harm the user as they pass by.
It provides permanent protection against any manipulation, accidents, or improper use of the line.
Since this energy absorber is entirely metal, the V 300 (unlike others on the market, which are made of fabric or synthetic materials) does not have a predetermined expiration date.
6. V-LOCK – FALL ARRESTER The sliding fall arrester is the connection between the line and the user. Its reliability, robustness and ease of handling are key criteria when choosing a permanent vertical system. IGENA presents the new arrester model for its vertical systems, which adapts to all the needs of users, whose main features are:

- Unique construction, made of stainless steel (entire body and mechanisms) and anodised aluminium (gate and carabiner). Patented model EP 18209590.1
- Fall arresters suitable for the modern continuous passage system through intermediate anchorages (ref V 202 T) and “CRISBE” (ref V 202 C).
- Excellent behaviour and greater smoothness both on ascent and descent, due to the weight/spring force ratio.
- Certified for users from 50 to 150 kg.
- Possibility of production with the customer’s logo.
- Simple and compact handling, easily attached to any point on the line.
- V-LOCK: Equipped with a built-in fall sensor, which absorbs energy and detects any excessive strain on the arrester, either due to the user falling or due to improper handling or use.

- V-LOCK PRO: Equipped with a built-in energy absorber.
- Modern ergonomic design, with an easy and intuitive gate opening system (double action as standard).
- It features a built-in position-reversal system (which prevents it from being placed upside down) and a built-in carabiner.
- They are available in a convenient storage case.
7. V 402 – TENSIONER
IGENA’s constant drive for innovation led to the creation of the V402 tensioner, which has been achieved from both the user’s and the installer’s perspectives.

Guaranteed optimal system voltage.
It always guarantees optimal system tension without the need to measure or check it. Simply loosen the nut a few turns to see the cable taut, with a guaranteed tension of 23-30 daN.
It is equipped with a stainless steel tension/adjustment spring for self-tensioning. It is anchored to a ladder step.
Unique construction, with a sturdy anodised aluminium profile and stainless steel mechanism.
Small size, without edges or other elements that could harm the user as they pass. The V 402 tensioner, equipped with a stainless steel tensioner/adjuster spring, for SELF-TENSIONING (unlike other manufacturers that place rigid tensioners on the rope without the possibility of adjusting the correct tension of the rope), protects the system by avoiding the “bow arrow” effect, reducing the stress on the upper and lower anchors.
Includes an indication that the system is operational. The V402 tensioner has a built-in indicator that allows the user to confirm from the start of the climb that the system is operational.
